Patna University accepts NEET cutoff scores for admission to UG medical courses. Patna University cutoff 2023 for NEET UG has been released. Patna University Overview
Established in 1917, Patna University has served as an examining and affiliating body for more than 30 years. On January 2, 1952, it underwent a conversion to become a university with a focus solely on teaching and some residential space, with jurisdiction over Metropolitan Patna. It is one of the nation's oldest universities.
It is the first university in Bihar and the seventh-oldest in the entire subcontinent. Apart from Patna Medical College and Patna Dental College in the Faculty of Medicine, whose management and control are with the State Government, Patna University has 31 postgraduate departments in the faculties of Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, Education, Commerce, and Law and ten constituent colleges.
The university supports four institutes, including the Institute of Psychological Research & Services, the Institute of Public Administration, the Institute of Music, and the Institute of Library and Information Science. Additionally, Patna University offers numerous specialisations for its programmes.
Students are admitted to the university based on their performance in various entrance exams and their merit in qualifying exams. However, there is a cap on the number of students admitted to PU Patna based on their performance on the entrance exam.
